Staying connected with your fitness journey and your clients is crucial. Workout Titan is designed to keep you informed with timely notifications about exercise updates and completions. However, if you're not receiving these alerts, there are a few things you'll need to check. This article will guide you through the necessary steps to ensure you're getting all the important updates from Workout Titan.
Understanding Workout Titan notifications
Workout Titan sends two primary types of notifications to enhance communication between coaches and clients:
For clients:
- Exercise completion: Receive a notification when your coach marks one of your assigned exercises as complete.
- Exercise update: Be alerted when your coach posts an update or comment on one of your exercises.
For coaches:
- Exercise Completion: Get notified when one of your clients marks one of their exercises as complete.
- Exercise Update: Receive an alert when one of your clients posts an update or comment on an exercise.
To receive these valuable notifications, you need to ensure that notifications are enabled at two levels: your device's operating system settings (iOS or Android) and within the Workout Titan app itself. Let's walk through how to configure both.
Step 1: Enabling notifications in your device settings (iOS and Android)
Workout Titan relies on your device's operating system to deliver notifications. If notifications are disabled at this level, the app won't be able to alert you. Here's how to enable them:
For iOS (iPhone and iPad):
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Scroll down the list and tap on Notifications.
- Find Workout Titan in the list of apps and tap on it.
- Ensure that the Allow Notifications toggle at the top is switched on (it should appear green).
- Under the "Alerts" section, customise how you want to receive notifications (e.g., on the Lock Screen, in the Notification Center, as Banners). Make sure at least one of these options is selected.
- Verify that the desired Sounds and Badges options are also enabled according to your preferences.
For Android:
- Open the Settings app on your Android device.
- Tap on Apps or Notifications (the exact wording might vary depending on your Android version and device manufacturer).
- Tap on See all apps (if necessary) and locate Workout Titan in the list. Tap on it.
- Tap on Notifications.
- Make sure the main All Workout Titan notifications switch is turned on.
- You might see different notification categories listed (e.g., General Notifications). Ensure these are also enabled.
- Tap on each notification category to further customise the behaviour, such as the alert sound, vibration, and priority.
Important note: Battery optimisation settings on your device can sometimes interfere with the delivery of notifications. If you continue to experience issues after enabling notifications, you might want to check your battery optimisation settings for the Workout Titan app and ensure it's not being restricted.
Step 2: Enabling notifications within the Workout Titan app
In addition to your device settings, Workout Titan has its own notification preferences that you can manage within the app. This allows you to control the specific types of notifications you receive from Workout Titan.
Within the Workout Titan app, you can enable or disable the following notification types:
- Exercise update notifications: Receive alerts when a coach (for clients) or a client (for coaches) posts an update or comment on an exercise.
- Exercise completion notifications: Get notified when a coach marks your exercise as complete (for clients) or when a client marks their exercise as complete (for coaches).
Here's how to manage these in-app notification settings:
- Open the Workout Titan app on your device.
- Look for a Settings icon, which is located in the navigation bar (bottom of the screen).
- On the Settings screen, you should find a section titled “Notifications preferences”.
- Within the notification preferences, you will see toggles or switches for Exercise updates and Exercise completions.
Ensure that the toggles are switched on (the visual indicator will usually be a different colour or position when enabled) for the types of notifications you wish to receive. If a toggle is off, you will not receive those specific alerts, even if your device settings are correctly configured.
Still not receiving notifications?
If you have followed both of these steps and are still not receiving notifications from Workout Titan, here are a few additional things to consider:
- Check your internet connection: A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data) is required to receive notifications.
- Ensure the app is running in the background: Sometimes, if an app is completely closed (force-quit), it might not be able to receive notifications immediately. Ensure the app is running in the background.
- Restart your device: A simple restart can often resolve temporary software glitches that might be interfering with notifications.
- Update the Workout Titan app: Make sure you are using the latest version of the Workout Titan app. Outdated versions might have bugs that prevent notifications from working correctly. Check the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) for any available updates.
- Contact support: If you've tried all the above steps and are still experiencing issues, please don't hesitate to contact our support team. We're here to help you get the most out of Workout Titan.
By checking both your device settings and the in-app notification preferences, you can ensure you stay informed and connected with all the important updates within Workout Titan.
