Your videos live in a panel of their own. Basecamp is the better place to keep it tidy. You can see the whole library, play things back properly, and edit titles and descriptions without typing on glass.
The four caption badges
Each video carries one, and they are not decorative.
- CC: captions available. Nothing to do.
- CC soon: still being generated. Wait rather than re-uploading.
- No sound: there was nothing to caption. Expected on a silent demonstration, and a prompt to make sure the description carries the whole instruction.
- No captions: there is audio but no caption track. This is the one worth acting on, because a client who cannot hear gets nothing from the audio.
Scan for those last two occasionally. A library where every clip says No sound is one where nobody narrated, and narration is free at filming time.
Views and likes
Each video shows how many views and likes it has. Views tell you which demonstrations clients actually reach for, usually the technically awkward movements rather than the ones you thought needed explaining.
Use that to decide what to film next. A clip with a lot of views is telling you the movement is confusing, which may also mean the written cue on the exercise needs work.
Attaching from here
Open a video and there is a Use for exercise action, so you can go from watching a clip to attaching it without navigating back through a client's program. Handy when you have just uploaded something and want it in place immediately.
Editing
Titles and descriptions can be changed at any time, and the same rules apply as at upload: the description has to describe the movement rather than name it. Fixing a thin description on an old video is a genuinely worthwhile hour.
Deleting
The confirmation is explicit: delete this video from your library, and it cannot be undone. Any exercise pointing at it loses its demonstration.
On a free plan there is a second reason for care. Uploads are limited and deleting does not obviously buy the slot back. Rename and re-describe a clip that is nearly right rather than deleting and re-filming it.
