Most people eat the same twenty meals on rotation. The cookbook in Workout Titan Nutrition exists so you log each of them properly once and then add it again in a tap, rather than rebuilding your porridge from four separate foods every morning.
Saving a meal you have just logged
1. Log everything for that meal as you normally would.
2. Tap the bookmark on the meal card. That picks up every food on the card at once.
3. Give it a name. Pick something you would search for, like "Spaghetti bolognese", not "Tuesday". Up to 80 characters.
4. Set Usually eaten at, which is the meal it drops into by default. You can override it each time you use it.
5. Untick anything you do not want included. Select all and Select none are there if you are cherry-picking from a long card.
6. Tap Save to cookbook.
A saved meal holds up to 50 foods, which is far more than any real meal needs.
Using one
Open Cookbook (from the quick add panel or from the meal card) and tap the meal you want. It shows what is in it and adds the lot to the day you are on. Every food arrives separately on the meal card, so you can still delete or adjust one of them afterwards.
Each saved meal shows how many times you have used it, so you can see which ones you actually rely on.
Editing and deleting
Edit meal changes the name, the usual meal period, or which foods are in it. Recipes drift, and a saved meal that no longer matches what you cook will log the wrong numbers.
Deleting one removes it from the cookbook only. Foods you already logged from it stay exactly where they are. Your history is never rewritten by a change to a saved meal.
Messages you might hit
- Nothing to save yet: the meal card is empty. Log the foods first, then save them.
- Name already used: names have to be unique. Add a distinguishing word rather than a number, so "Porridge, big" rather than "Porridge 2".
- Some foods were not added: part of the meal went in and part did not. The message names which failed, so add those few by hand.
- Saved meal not found: it was deleted on another device. Your cookbook syncs across everywhere you are signed in.
Why this saves your scan allowance
Adding a saved meal does not spend a food lookup or a photo scan. The foods in it are already stored, so there is nothing to look up. On a Free account, building a cookbook early is the difference between five useful lookups and five wasted ones.
