Workout Titan Nutrition vs Nutracheck

How Workout Titan Nutrition and Nutracheck compare on price, UK food data, photo logging, tracking beyond calories, exercise and working with a coach.

We make Workout Titan Nutrition, so we have a stake in this. How we kept it fair

The short answer

Choose Workout Titan Nutrition if you want to photograph a plate and get an estimate, see the source and confidence behind every number, track hydration, caffeine and fasting free with no time limit, and share your logs live with a coach. Choose Nutracheck if you eat mostly UK supermarket and restaurant food and want the largest verified British database with product photos, a web diary, Fitbit and Garmin sync, and a cheap annual plan.

Choose Workout Titan Nutrition if…

  • you want to photograph a plate of home cooking or restaurant food and get an estimate
  • you want to see where every number came from and how confident the app is
  • you track hydration, caffeine, fasting, salt or fibre as well as calories and want them free with no time limit
  • you train with a coach on Workout Titan Coaching and want your logs on their dashboard as you make them
  • you want the app in German, French, Spanish or Portuguese

Choose Nutracheck if…

  • you eat mostly UK packaged, supermarket and chain-restaurant food and want verified figures with product photos
  • you want to log on a desktop as well as your phone
  • you wear a Fitbit or Garmin, or want an Apple Watch app, and want exercise in your diary automatically
  • you would rather pay about £30 a year than £8.99 a month for unlimited use
  • you follow 5:2 and want fasting days built into your calorie allowance

Pricing

Tie

Workout Titan Nutrition is free for manual logging and every tracker with no time limit and charges £8.99 a month for unlimited AI scanning; Nutracheck is £6.99 a month or £29.99 a year after a 7-day trial, with a free Lite version that limits daily entries.

Workout Titan Nutrition

  • Free plan with no time limit for manual logging, cookbook, weight, hydration, fasting and the coach connection
  • 15 AI photo scans and 15 food lookups included, in total, for the life of the account
  • Pro £8.99 a month in the UK for unlimited scans and lookups plus the AI daily summary, cancel any time; no annual plan
  • Pro included for clients of coaches on Performance and Infinity plans
  • Priced in local currency through Apple or Google

Nutracheck

  • 7-day free trial, then £6.99 a month or £29.99 a year (offer price to 29 September 2026)
  • Free Lite version with daily diary limits; third-party reviews put it at five entries a day
  • One membership covers phone, tablet and the website
  • App Store listing shows several price variants, from £3.99 a month and £23.99 a year
  • Ad-free on membership; UK help team seven days a week
More on Pricing

Which is cheaper depends on how you log. If you type or search every meal, Workout Titan Nutrition costs nothing for as long as you like, and Nutracheck’s Lite version runs out of entries by lunchtime. If you want the whole app without limits, Nutracheck’s £29.99 a year is a quarter of a year of Workout Titan Pro, which has no annual price. And if you are a client of a Workout Titan coach on Performance or Infinity, Pro may already be included, which changes the sum entirely. We have called it a tie.

Logging a plate of food

Winner: Workout Titan Nutrition

Workout Titan Nutrition photographs a whole plate and estimates the calories and macros, with a confidence rating; Nutracheck has no plate recognition, so home cooking and restaurant meals are searched or built by hand.

Workout Titan Nutrition

  • Photograph a plate and get an estimate of calories and macros, with portion prompts when a serving looks uncertain
  • Every entry badged with its source and a confidence rating: high, moderate or low
  • Built for home cooking and restaurant food, where there is no label to read
  • Photos are not used to train AI models
  • 15 scans free for life; unlimited on Pro or through a coach

Nutracheck

  • No AI recognition of a plate of food
  • Home-cooked meals are built from ingredients or saved as recipes
  • Restaurant chains are in the database by dish
  • Photo search identifies packaged products, not meals
  • Meal ideas and recipes from the Nutracheck team
More on Logging a plate of food

No app can weigh food through a camera, and Workout Titan Nutrition says so on every entry: the confidence rating tells you which numbers to trust and which to check. But for a plate of food with no label, an estimate in five seconds beats searching for six ingredients, and that is the difference between logging dinner and not. Nutracheck’s answer is its recipe builder, which is precise if you weigh what you cook and slow if you do not.

Beyond calories

Tie

Both track the seven UK label nutrients, water, fasting and weight; Nutracheck adds a 5:2 mode, easier days and reports, while Workout Titan Nutrition adds caffeine, an AI daily summary and end-of-day notes.

Workout Titan Nutrition

  • Saturated fat, sugar, fibre, salt and five a day, under the macros
  • Hydration in a tap, with caffeinated drinks counted separately; six months of charts
  • Intermittent fasting dial, 12 to 20 hours, with stages and a safety list
  • Weight in kg, lb or stone on a six-month chart; weekly or daily calorie and macro goals in grams or percent
  • AI daily summary on Pro that reads your day back, and an end-of-day rating and note

Nutracheck

  • Calories and seven nutrients: carbs, protein, fat, saturated fat, sugar, salt and fibre, with preset goal styles such as Lower Carb or Higher Protein
  • Water and 5-a-day reminders
  • Intermittent fasting built in, plus a 5:2 option with 500 or 800 calorie fasting days
  • Easier Days: a higher allowance for weekends or nights out
  • Reports, weigh-in progress chart and a LIVE Club weigh-in
More on Beyond calories

The two overlap more here than anywhere else, because both follow the UK front-of-pack labelling: the same seven nutrients, the same five-a-day. Nutracheck’s extras are about flexibility in the plan, with 5:2 days and easier days. Workout Titan Nutrition’s are about reflection: the daily summary tells you how the day went against your goals and what to adjust tomorrow, and the end-of-day note is the one place for what a calorie count cannot record.

Exercise and activity

Winner: Nutracheck

Nutracheck logs exercise from 1,000 activities, syncs Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Health and Google Fit, and can add burned calories to your allowance; Workout Titan Nutrition shows your steps and deliberately leaves your target alone.

Workout Titan Nutrition

  • Connects to Apple Health or Health Connect, so any watch that syncs to your phone counts
  • Daily steps and active energy on your day summary, shared with your coach if you have one
  • Checks your chosen activity level against two weeks of steps
  • Never adds measured energy to your calorie target: wrist estimates run high, and the target already allows for activity
  • Workout logging lives in Workout Titan Coaching

Nutracheck

  • Exercise tracker with over 1,000 activities
  • Links with Fitbit, Garmin and, via Apple Health and Google Fit, many other devices
  • Apple Watch app
  • Combined view deducts exercise from your food total; a Separate view shows them apart
  • Daily calorie totals sent back to your Fitbit dashboard
More on Exercise and activity

Nutracheck wins on breadth: more devices, a watch app and a proper exercise diary. The two disagree on what to do with the calories. Nutracheck’s default combined view treats exercise as extra budget, though you can switch it off. Workout Titan Nutrition shows the energy but does not spend it, because in a 2017 Stanford comparison of seven wearables, wrist estimates of energy burned were 27% to 93% out, and its calorie target already includes an activity allowance. Counting the same activity twice is how a deficit disappears.

Working with a coach

Winner: Workout Titan Nutrition

Workout Titan Nutrition connects to a coach on Workout Titan Coaching who sets your targets and sees your logs as you make them; Nutracheck can link your diary with up to seven other users, but has no coach tools.

Workout Titan Nutrition

  • Food, weight and end-of-day notes appear on your coach’s dashboard and in Basecamp as you log them, by day and by meal
  • Coach sets and adjusts your calorie and macro targets from their side
  • Sharing switched off any time, and never retroactive; fasting is never shared
  • Pro included free for clients of coaches on Performance and Infinity
  • The connection is made by the coach; neither of you needs Pro for it to work

Nutracheck

  • Link your account with up to seven other users, including free trialists and expired members
  • You choose what each linked person sees: diary entries (not notes), saved meals, and weigh-ins (not other measurements)
  • Used by some personal trainers to review clients’ diaries
  • No coach dashboard, targets or programmes; every user has the same app
  • Peer support through forums and a UK help team
More on Working with a coach

Nutracheck’s account linking is built for friends and family, and a trainer can use it: link with a client and read their diary. What it lacks is the other half of coaching. A Nutracheck trainer cannot set a client’s targets, see several clients on one screen, or read the diary alongside the client’s training. Workout Titan Nutrition is the client half of a coaching platform, so check-ins start from what was actually eaten, and the coach owns the numbers while sharing is on.

Platform, offline use and languages

Tie

Nutracheck adds a desktop diary and an Apple Watch app but cannot add entries offline; Workout Titan Nutrition is phone-only but comes in six languages.

Workout Titan Nutrition

  • iPhone (iOS 17 or later) and Android 8 or later, including Chromebooks with the Play Store
  • English (UK and US), German, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese
  • Native app; logging and the daily summary work offline where possible
  • No web version and no watch app; watch data arrives through Apple Health
  • Passwordless sign-in and account deletion from inside the app

Nutracheck

  • iPhone (iOS 16 or later), Android, Apple Watch, and a full diary on the website
  • English and Spanish on the App Store listing
  • Entries cannot be added without a connection; the diary is viewable seven days either side
  • Rated 4.8 from 265,000 ratings on the UK App Store
  • For adults only: 18 and over
More on Platform, offline use and languages

If you log at a desk, Nutracheck’s website is a real advantage; Workout Titan Nutrition has no browser version, and its coach-side view lives in Basecamp, which clients do not use. If you log in a language other than English, Workout Titan Nutrition is the only one of the two that will speak it beyond Spanish. Neither app is strong offline, though Nutracheck is explicit that entries need a connection.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is Workout Titan Nutrition free?

Partly. Tracking is free with no time limit: manual food logging, your cookbook, calories and macro targets, weight, hydration, fasting and the coach connection. AI photo scanning and food search are limited to 15 each for the life of the account, and the camera counts a barcode or label capture as a scan. After that they need Pro, which is £8.99 a month in the UK and makes both unlimited, plus adds the AI daily summary.

  • Is Nutracheck free?

There is a 7-day free trial and a free Lite version with daily diary limits; independent reviews put the limit at about five entries a day. Full membership is £6.99 a month or £29.99 a year, as of 24 September 2026, and covers the app on phone and tablet and the website. Its App Store listing shows several other price points, so check the app for the current offer.

  • Which has the better UK food database?

Nutracheck. Its database of more than 500,000 UK foods is collected from packaging by its own team and shows product photos, so for supermarket and chain-restaurant food it is hard to beat. Workout Titan Nutrition reads the label in front of you instead, which works for any product including ones no database has, and checks barcodes against Open Food Facts. For a plate of home cooking, only Workout Titan Nutrition will estimate it from a photo.

  • Can I move my history from Nutracheck to Workout Titan Nutrition?

There is no import. Most people start fresh: set your goals, log today’s meals and save the ones you repeat to your cookbook, and the week view fills in from there. Your weight history can be re-entered by hand if you want the chart to carry on.

  • Does Nutracheck work with a coach?

Only by sharing. Nutracheck lets you link your account with up to seven other users and choose whether each can see your diary, saved meals and weigh-ins, and some trainers use that to read a client’s diary. There is no coach dashboard and a linked user cannot set your targets. Workout Titan Nutrition connects to a coach on Workout Titan Coaching, who sees your food, weight and notes as you log them and sets your calorie and macro targets from their side.

  • Does either app add exercise calories to my allowance?

Nutracheck does by default: its combined view deducts logged or synced exercise from your food total, and you can switch to a separate view. Workout Titan Nutrition shows your steps and active energy but never adds them to your target, because your target already includes an activity allowance and wrist estimates of energy burned are unreliable.

How we compare

We build Workout Titan Nutrition, so this page cannot be neutral. What it can be is fair.
