Setting up for the first time

Sign in, read the Before you begin sections, and answer two optional questions about your weight and calorie goal. The whole thing takes a few minutes and nothing in it is permanent.

Topics: Getting started

Setting up has three parts: signing in, reading the Before you begin sections, and answering two optional questions. Nothing you enter here is fixed, and all of it can be changed later in Preferences.

1. Sign in

Three ways in, and they all reach the same account:

  • Continue with Apple
  • Continue with Google
  • Continue with email: we send a magic link. Open it on the same device and you are signed in. There is no password to remember.

If you already use Workout Titan Coaching or Basecamp, sign in with the same method you use there. It is one account across all three apps, and signing in with a different method creates a second one.

Sign in with Apple or Google and your name and email are managed by that account. You will not be able to edit them inside Nutrition, which is expected rather than a fault.

2. Before you begin

A run of short sections you tap Continue through. They are not filler. They cover how coach syncing works, that the numbers come from AI models and the Open Food Facts database, that AI can be confidently wrong, and how the confidence rating flags the parts it is least sure about. The rest introduce fasting, hydration, weight logging, the cookbook, end-of-day notes, reminders, personalisation and the week view.

The last two matter most. Your responsibilities asks you to confirm that you are 16 or over and that you will check what the AI returns. Data and privacy tells you your data may be processed by AI models to generate suggestions and analysis.

Tap Agree & continue at the end. That single tap agrees to every section, so it is worth reading them rather than tapping through.

3. Two questions about you

Both are optional, and both have a Skip this question button.

Current weight. Saved as your first weight log, so your chart starts from today rather than from whenever you first remember to log. Accepts anything between 20 and 500 kg.

Calorie goal. Powers the calorie progress on your log and week view. An estimate is worked out from your answers. Tap Use this estimate to fill it in, then edit it if you disagree. Anything between 500 and 20,000 is accepted.

Tap Finish and the app opens on today.

Worth doing next

The setup questions deliberately ask for very little. For a fuller calorie estimate, open Preferences and then About you, and fill in your sex, date of birth, height and activity level. The estimate needs all of them before it will show a figure, and it tells you which ones are still missing.

If you want reminders, turn on push notifications in Manage account first. Reminders you add before that are saved but will not deliver.

If setup fails to save

You will see "Couldn't save your details" with the option to try again or to set them up later. Choosing Set up later loses nothing permanent. The same fields are all in Preferences, and the app works without them.

Workout Titan

Two apps, one focus: fitness done properly. Coaching gives trainers powerful programmes, live progress and instant adjustments. Nutrition turns your camera into a food log. Scan a pack, a label or your meal and the numbers are done.
