Habits are the small repeated things that sit alongside training. Over a year they add up to more than any single workout. Workout Titan Coaching keeps a list and lets you mark them off.
Adding one
Open Habits and add one. It takes a name and a description. The built-in example sets the tone: "Drink eight cups of water."
Either side can create them. A coach adds habits for a specific client, and a client can add their own. Both end up in the same list, so it is worth agreeing who is setting what rather than both of you adding a sleep habit.
For clients: habits your coach added and habits you added sit in the same list, and you mark them off the same way.
Writing one that works
The test is whether you can answer yes or no at the end of the day without arguing with yourself. "Drink eight cups of water" passes. "Eat better" does not, because there is no moment where it is done.
Make it smaller than feels worthwhile. A small habit you can complete on an ordinary day is easier to keep going than an ambitious one. Consistency is the point here, and the list is not a score.
Three or four is plenty. A long list is harder to keep track of than a short one.
A day you do not tick is just a day you did not tick. What the list is good for is the pattern over weeks, rather than any single day in it.
For coaches
Habits are where you put the things that are not training but decide whether training works: sleep, steps, water, protein at breakfast, a walk on rest days.
They sit alongside the programme rather than inside it, so a habit is not attached to a workout and does not need a training day to be ticked off.
Set them with the client rather than at them. A habit the client agreed to is one they recognise on the list, and the list stays theirs to keep.
Review them. A habit ticked every day for two months has been learned and can come off. One that has never been ticked is usually too big, rather than a sign that the client is not trying.
Deleting one
You are asked to confirm, and it cannot be undone. Removing a habit that has served its purpose is good housekeeping rather than failure. The list should describe what you are working on now.
