Reading the day screen

The day screen holds a week strip, a calorie and macro summary, and four meal cards. Here is what each number means and what happens when you go over your goal.

Topics: Getting started

The day screen is where Workout Titan Nutrition opens and where nearly everything happens. It has four parts stacked down the screen: the week strip, the day summary, the macro grid and the meal cards.

The week strip

Seven days across the top. Tap any one to move the whole screen to that day, or use the arrows to step a day at a time. Today is marked TDY. If you have wandered off, Jump to today brings you back.

You can log to past days as freely as to today. Future days are visible but you cannot post an end-of-day note to one until it arrives.

The day summary

A single headline figure: the calories logged for that day. If you have set a calorie goal, the goal sits beside it with how much is left.

  • remaining: how much of the goal is still unspent.
  • over: you have passed it. Nutrition states the number and does nothing else. There is no penalty and no warning, and going over is information, not a failure.

With no calorie goal set there is no remaining figure, just the running total.

The macro grid

Four columns by default: Calories, Carbs, Protein and Fat. Each shows the amount logged and, where you have set a goal, the percentage of it you have reached.

Tap the "+N others" control and the grid expands to the rest of what Nutrition tracks: saturated fat, sugar, fibre, salt, hydration, 5-a-day portions and caffeinated drinks. Show less collapses it again. Nutrition does not remember this, so the grid opens collapsed each time.

A nutrient with no goal set still shows what you logged. It simply has no percentage next to it.

The meal cards

Four cards, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks. Each lists what you logged to it and its own total in calories. An empty card says so plainly rather than hiding itself.

Every card has an Add to button that opens the search and camera tools with that meal already chosen. Swipe a logged food sideways for its actions, or tap it to open the full nutrition panel, change the serving, or edit the values.

A bookmark on a meal card saves everything in it to your cookbook in one go.

The More menu

Everything that is not food logging lives behind More: Week view, Weight, Hydration, Fasting, End of day, Reminders and Preferences. If your coach has turned weight logging off, the Weight entry is still there but disabled, and says so.

If a coach is connected

A line on the day screen reads "Your nutritional information is shared with your coach." It is there whenever sharing is on, so you always know before you log rather than after.

Workout Titan

Two apps, one focus: fitness done properly. Coaching gives trainers powerful programmes, live progress and instant adjustments. Nutrition turns your camera into a food log. Scan a pack, a label or your meal and the numbers are done.
