End of day sits in the More menu. It asks one question, how the day went, and gives you a box to say more. It is the only part of the app that records something a number cannot.
Posting a check-in
1. Open More, then End of day. It applies to whichever day you are viewing.
2. Tap a face to rate the day, from Very difficult through Tough, Okay and Good to Great. Tap the same one again to clear it.
3. Add a note if you want to. The placeholder suggests what it is for: wins, struggles, hunger, sleep, and anything a coach should know if you have one.
4. Post it. You will see "Posted for this day. You can update it anytime."
A check-in needs at least one of the two: a rating or a note. With neither, the app asks you to add one rather than posting an empty entry.
Changing or removing one
Nothing is final. Come back and update it whenever you like. To remove a check-in entirely, clear both the rating and the notes. The app asks you to pick a rating or clear the notes, which is its way of saying a half-empty check-in is not a state it keeps.
Only for days that have happened
You can post one for today or any past day, but not for a future one. Try it on a day that has not happened and the app tells you the note can be posted once that day arrives. Catching up on a few days at the weekend works fine.
Where it shows up
The rating appears on that day in the week view, so a week of moods sits alongside a week of numbers. A day with a rating but nothing logged is marked as check-in only rather than treated as a day you ate nothing.
That pairing is the point of the feature. The weeks that felt hardest are frequently not the weeks the numbers sit furthest from your targets, and you cannot see that without recording both.
If you have a coach
If nutrition sharing is on, end-of-day notes are shared along with your food and weight logs. Write them knowing that. For most people it is the reason to write them at all, since a line like "slept badly, hungry all afternoon" explains a day in a way the totals never will.
If you would rather keep something to yourself, turn sharing off before posting. Notes written while sharing is off are never shared retroactively, even if you turn it back on later.
Making it a habit
There is a ready-made reminder for it: the End-of-day check-in preset under Reminders, which nudges you to review the day and add anything you missed. Thirty seconds an evening is enough, and a fortnight of short notes is worth more than one long one.
