Setting calorie and macro targets

Set calories and macros as daily or weekly totals, in grams or as a percentage of calories. Every goal is optional, and leaving one blank simply hides its progress.

Topics: Targets & goals

Preferences, then Daily goals. This is where the numbers on your day screen come from. Every field is optional. Leave one blank and Workout Titan Nutrition stops showing progress for it, which is a normal way to use it rather than a broken setup.

Calorie goal

One number, and the one most people set first. It drives the remaining and over figures on the day screen and the comparison on the week view. Type it directly, or let About you estimate it and tap Use these goals.

Daily or weekly

Calorie goal period switches between a daily total and a weekly one. A weekly goal shows you roughly what it works out to per day, and it counts your intake across seven days rather than one. A bigger Saturday then sits inside the week's total instead of standing on its own.

Choose daily if you want the same target to track against every day, and weekly if your eating varies by design (training days, weekends, shift work).

Macro goals

Carbohydrate, protein and fat, each optional and each independent. Two settings shape how you enter them.

  • Macro goal type: grams or percent. Grams are absolute; percent is a share of your calories, so the gram figure moves with your calorie goal.
  • Macro goal period: daily or weekly, the same choice as calories and set separately.

Grams suit protein, where the target is usually a fixed amount tied to your body weight. Percent suits carbohydrate and fat, where what matters is the split of whatever calories you are eating. Mixing the two is not possible. The setting applies to all three.

Setting one macro and ignoring the rest

Perfectly reasonable, and a good way to start. A calorie goal plus a protein goal is enough for many people, and carbohydrate and fat can stay blank until you have a reason to track them. Their columns still show what you logged, just without a percentage.

Hydration goal

In millilitres, between 1 and 20,000, and always a daily figure. Leave it blank and the default of 2,000 ml is used. You can set your own figure instead, for example if you train hard or live somewhere hot.

Saving

Changes are confirmed with "Goals saved" and take effect immediately, including on days you have already logged. The day screen recalculates against the new target rather than keeping the old one. If a save fails you are told, and nothing is half-applied.

If the fields are locked

This applies only if you are connected to a coach. A note reading "Managed by your coach" means nutrition sharing is on and your coach owns these numbers. Turning sharing off in Manage account hands them back to you, but it also ends everything else that comes with the connection.

Workout Titan

Two apps, one focus: fitness done properly. Coaching gives trainers powerful programmes, live progress and instant adjustments. Nutrition turns your camera into a food log. Scan a pack, a label or your meal and the numbers are done.
